Check Your Matching: Columns to Fields
The initial step you should take is to verify whether you have correctly matched the appropriate fields for the columns during the import process, especially if some of your fields are not being imported.
For instance, in the import shown below, it can be observed that the Email column in the import file was mistakenly linked to the First Name field in the table when initially uploaded, and vice versa:
To resolve this, simply choose the appropriate field from the options list next to "Map to" for that column.
Therefore, it is advisable to carefully review your import at this stage of the process to guarantee that all the columns are accurately aligned with the appropriate fields.
Check Your Matching: Updating Existing Records
To update existing records, you must match one of the columns in your import file with one of the fields in your table. This allows the system to identify the specific record in your app that needs updating based on the rows in your import file.
When updating records using an import, it is essential to match on a unique field. Auto Increment fields are highly suitable for this purpose since they are always guaranteed to be unique.
However, there are also various other field types that can be configured to have the "Must be unique" setting.
It is not advisable to match on a Name or Address field because they cannot be set to unique, which can lead to issues for users. We are actively working on improving this for those field types.
